As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Study Break

Taking a study break now and figured it would be a good time to write up on today's fitness activities.
Had a distance workout with Kalee this afternoon.
I didn't want to run outside, she didn't want to run on the treadmill. Compromise = indoor track.
We are very fortunate here at CNU to have top tier facilities with a complete indoor track and field house. Kalee's entire track meet last weekend, I forgot to mention, was completely indoors in our amazing Freeman Center here on campus. This included hurdle races, pole vaulting, distance relays, high jump, long jump, etc. which explains why so many top schools come here to compete with us (last weekend alone included NC State, VCU, William and Mary, VA Wesleyan, Seton Hill, Virginia State, and NC Central just to name a few).
We arrived at the track to find the women's basketball team using it for warm up drills. So we went into the fitness pavilion for a warmup and our first mile on the treadmill. We ended up racing the last half mile on the treadmill which was fun...I failed to win after giving myself too much of a lackadaisical start at the beginning and ran out of distance to catch up! After that we stretched and hit the track for our second mile. Then ended with stretching and another good ab rotation.
Legs very sore after heavy lifting from Wednesday, however this is good prep for training at home in the month to come. Back to studying now...one more exam at 8am tomorrow and then done for the semester!

  1. We're going to have to discuss getting beat on the treadmill when you get back... unacceptable

  2. Perhaps I should elaborate: I warmed up the first half mile while she went a hard pace, then I decided to challenge myself to catch her, little did I know that she would increase speed to maintain a margin I did not anticipate, thus leaving me with no choice but to hold a 6 minute pace for the last two laps only to loose by .01 miles (ten steps). My lack of math skills on the fly are to question, not my fitness level : )
