As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Back at School

Overall I had a great spring break...but it never seems to last quite long enough!  Drove up to Richmond on Saturday to take Nelson to his club tournament games and was very impressed with his play...not to mention he had the honor of being named captain of his team and I couldn't be happier to be the first to celebrate with him...congrats Nelson!

Back to the CNU grind today for an afternoon lift with the team:
Hanging cleans, front loaded squats (working up to PR of 195 lbs on last set), box jumps (thanks to your challenge Tyler I achieved the highest box today), DB lunges, calf raises, 3x6 pull ups, and abs.

Afternoon weather was perfect so I hit the track after lifting for some distance work.  First mile with Colin at a light 7 minute pace.  He headed in so I decided to take on another mile right below lactate threshold level (breathing hard but not fully exhausted).  Stats from New Balance N8 watch:
Distance 1.086 mi
Avg bpm: 201 (208 max)
10.9 mph avg (11.8 max)
Total time of 6:06
Avg pace: 5:28/mile (max 5:05)

I think the more I track my data and learn to become more efficient with my heart rate I can start logging 6 minute miles more comfortably as I get closer to the duathlon.  For now, just got to keep pushing.
