Felt good, better than anticipated through all the activity.
Began the morning and the season with our team prayer and then hit the hilly Noland trail for the fitness test: 1 mile out and back in 13 minutes or less. Showed up a couple of minutes late because of parking trouble, so Captain Cliff asked me to run/pace the slower and younger group. No worries, want to do what's best for team. Coach sent our group out, hit the turn around at 6:06 holding the lead and feeling fine. After turn around, held pace, started to hit lactic zone with half mile to go, a talented new player (Alex) decided to roll on ahead, so I held my own pace, then Adriel also kicked up his pace with 1/2 mile to go. I was content to hold, came in comfortable at 12:35. Then practice right afterwards, some guys wishing they hadn't pushed so hard on the trail. Good skills work and small sided games, then ice bath.
Nap.
6pm Round 2 practice, circuit drills (pushups, weighted jump ropes, abs, skills, etc), 4v2 possession, then foosball round followed by large 10v10 game. Ended early because of coming storm. End of first day, 3 more to go, then Sunday off.
Work is being done... and BD stamp on it!
