As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

New Year's Day

To my surprise it was very warm again today...and with minimum traffic on the road I couldn't help but go out for a ride.  I tackled the time trial loop I designed from the house for the second time.  Wasn't sure what to expect given that my legs were still feeling it from yesterday's hill work.  Last time I rode this loop (December 23rd) I came in at a 17.6 mph avg at a time of 1:01:12 for the total 18 miles.  Today I went with a high cadence strategy since I knew my legs were sore...I kept the Cateye on cadence and distance readings and did not once look at speed or average speed measurements...this way I was able to ride to my body's feel and not by the numbers.  I managed a respectable 18.1 mph average in a time of 59:40.  Loop details with elevations here.  I think with a team time trial a lot more time can be shaved off...get my hint Brian??

After the ride I came inside to enjoy a great New Year's Day meal with the family, Nana & Pops, and Fritz and Regina.  Blessed to have great people around the table and excited for 2012.
