As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Ringing in the New Year

This past week I spent time in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA to visit with Grandma, my godmother, and my cousins.  Before leaving on Tuesday I managed to get in a 10 minute incline treadmill workout and a quick upper body lift...nothing major.

On Tuesday, Mom, Nelson, and I spent the day on the road heading up to PA...it rained the whole way which stunk.  On Wednesday and Thursday I did a 2.85 mile loop from Grandma's house.  Time of 20:45 the first day and 19:50 the second.  It was miserably cold but glad I got the cardio in...it worked out to be just under 7 minute pace for the second day.  Map with elevation can be found here.

Friday we traveled home while Brian did a tough bike hill repeat workout from the estate.  I woke up today and did the same route...very tough indeed.  Three Cat 5 climbs up Pleasant Green Road...20 miles total at a 17.8 average.  Had a lot of fun out there in the great weather rocking some of the new gear I got for Christmas. Ride details here.  Came inside and managed to get a full upper body lift done with Tyler: 4 sets of bench, 3 sets of DB row, 3 sets of SA DB shoulder press, 3 sets of 10x10 second planks, 2 sets of chinups and dips.

Thankful for all the blessings this year...lots of ups and downs and excited for the possibilities 2012 has to offer...happy new year!
