As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Logging Miles

Got out there today to stay loose and to stay on top of my mileage...no planned lactate work but ended up flooring it on the last part of my ride.

Did my 18 mile TT loop from the estate but on my last stretch a fellow bike pulled out in front of me...love having a rabbit out in front.  I pulled up behind him and matched his wheel for about 3 miles through the flats and saw he headed straight back to the Cat 5 climb that is Pleasant Green...I decided to deviate from my planned route and gave him a shout to let him know I was climbing with him...no response (he had headphones in).  So we floored it down the slope to the base of the climb which he hit at a slower pace than I like...I took it wide to the left and started jammin...he finally noticed me, engaged and locked onto my wheel as we cranked up that thing faster than I had ever gone...adrenaline was pumping and it was fun...as the climb leveled I turned and gave him a thumbs up...he pulled next to me, said a word and went on his way, I turned left off the road to head home as he stayed straight on his route...I needed about a mile to recover from that pull but love running into fellow riders out there for a friendly climbing duel!  Came in at exactly an hour for the loop with the official average at 17.9...WAY faster than I planned for going out there solo but glad I did it.

Met up with Tyler and Dad in the driveway to complete the brick with a 3.5 mile run.  Legs were sore, but felt good after the first mile...glad to get it in today while the weather was nice and to keep the mileage count ticking.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!
