As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Season-Opener Scrimmage

Last night we faced off against Hampton-Sydney for our first scrimmage under the lights.  We played three 30 minute periods.  I came off the bench in the 2nd period and finished out the game for a total of about 45 minutes.  Like I said, disappointed in not getting the start yet but happy to come off the bench swinging.  Overall it wasn't the prettiest round of soccer we've played but we showed sparks of promise for future greatness - came out with a 1-1 tie.  We were up 1-0 for most of the game but in the last five our sweeper made one mental pass error that they capitalized on against our third string keeper.  We had a great crowd considering school hasn't even started yet and went out for a nice team dinner afterwards.  Very happy with the close family-like feeling amongst the guys.  Glad to have an off day today to catch up on some rest and laundry.  Also had the chance some calories back in my system without burning them right off!  We got completely drenched in rain with some flash floods last night and this morning so we will see how this affects our training plans in the days ahead.  Here's a view of last night's game from the stands:

In other news my good friend Andrew Garmon reached the 105 lbs weight loss goal he set for himself this summer...we decided to celebrate with our friends at McDonald's tonight...very happy he's made such a dramatic lifestyle change and looking forward to his continued progress!  As you can see, Colin's nose is starting to heal up and wishing him a speedy recovery so he can get back on the field for his senior season.
