As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Maxes Revisited

Today at the start of our last week of classes we revisited max testing to see where we stand after a full spring of lifting before heading home for the summer. After losing weight and dropping most of my lifting at the start of outdoor practices I wasn't sure what to expect heading into this afternoon.

Today was cleans and chinups. We went through the upper body warm up and then started the cleans. I warmed up with 110 and felt good so I worked up to 135 lbs. Did this weight easily 3x so I went for it at 155 lbs. I did this 3x as well and this worked out to a 169 lbs 1 rep max. Not bad.

Then for chinups I was still unsure what to expect. I was happy to get 18 (8 rep improvement from the beginning of the semester) but would like to double this by the end of summer. I weighed in at 145 lbs- back to normal playing body weight. I know I've dropped a good amount of fat so I would like to get back to 150-155 by pre-season without any added fat. Interested to get my body fat percentage taken again in two weeks. In all I was very pleased with today and looking forward to continuing the tests on Wednesday.
