Last night we had our 2nd indoor game against a local U18 team. They had about 15-18 guys and played strictly according to the two minute rotation per player (as is proper form for indoor). Half our team showed up late so I was forced to play with my guys a man down for the first quarter of the game. We were down 5-2 to a very skilled and fresh team. Luckily our reinforcements showed up and we turned the score around into a 10-7 win. Clutch. I had some great assists and played almost every minute (even after our reinforcements showed up). However on a sad note, Denny extended his margin with 4 goals last night to my 1. Happy we got the win, happy I made this bet to push myself, but upset I am down by 4 goals on the season. It's a long season...will have to dig deep.
Ab rotation warm up.
Bench press- 2 sets of 10, 3rd set of 8 at 135 lbs.
Dips- 3 sets of 12 (I was challenged by Brendan on a fourth set to beat him- bad call by him, weight coach was pleased with me!)
Hanging body pulls- 3 sets of 10 (middle set with 40 lbs weight vest added)
Incline DB bench- 3 sets of 8 with 40 lbs DBs
Standing BB push press- 3 sets of 6 working up to 95 lbs on the last
DB bent over row- 3 sets of 6 reps each arm with 60 lbs.
3-way shoulder raises- 2 sets of 8 each with 15 lbs DBs.
It's funny watching some of these guys lift for the first time since last spring or even for the first time in their lives. Appreciation for technique and form will come. As for me, glad I have a great atmosphere and facility to workout in.
Was nice to catch up on the phone with Brian some yesterday, glad to hear things are going very well back home.
I thought you added assists to the tally?! You should... it's like hockey. Not pure soccer by any means where the goal scorer on a outdoors pitch should get more credit for the goal. Most often it's the creator doing all the work in indoor... need to tally assists equally
ReplyDeleteI tried...but was vetoed. Lesson learned, all I can do now is play my best.
