As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

A Heartbreaking End

CNU soccer season came to a heartbreaking end this weekend in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. We were fortunate to have a home seeding for this weekend's play and began the tournament against Neumann University. We beat them 3-0 despite holding a slim 1-0 halftime lead. I played in both halves, happy I could contribute. Game article here. But we seemed tired by the end of the game and some of the team started paying attention to other results around the country before focusing on winning our next game.

Last night we faced off against Johns Hopkins on our home field to play for a trip to the sweet 16. We went down 1-0 at half but fought our way back to tie it up late in the 2nd. We went into over time and off an unfortunate foul late in the 2nd half of the overtime, Hopkins scored off a beautiful free kick. It was a perfect set piece, just unfortunate our season had to end on something like that. Disappointed I didn't play this game, have to keep my head up for next year now. Game article here.

I'd also like to thank all my family and friends for their support through this season: Mom, Dad, Nana, Pops, Brian, Kalee. It certainly wasn't the best one for me individually, although most of what happened was out of my control. I couldn't help how much I played, just how hard I worked. I know I can still come home happy this winter knowing I put forth my best effort. Time for a new Tour...

  2. Does the tour ever stop? Between this post and Brian telling us he isn't settling for 5:22, it looks like this next summer is going to be even better than the last. Is that possible? We'll have to see, but I think this is going to be a great 2011. Hats off to the CNU soccer team!
