As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Re-engaged

Time to revamp and catch back up on my posts after a hard week.
My Wednesday game against Salisbury was actually very good on an individual level. Coach made no subs of the center mids in the first half, so I did not go in. However I went in for about 15 in the 2nd half and played very well. Yet, despite how well I play, I still manage to get pulled off. I think that's what frustrated me the most. Not to mention some of the guys showed signs of fatigue after I came off and Salisbury tied the game with 10 minutes to go in regulation. We were lucky to score a header off a corner with 3 minutes left, however we won't be able to do that against the really good teams in the tournament.

Practice on Thursday and Friday was frustrating- possibly because I was mad from the game and let it affect my play. However I tried to remain optimistic heading into Saturday.

This weekend is homecoming weekend and we played Greensboro for our last regular season game at home last night. We won 3-1 and I played very well again. I went in with 10 to go in the first half and had a great volley shot that went wide. We went into half winning 1-0. Then in the second half, I went in with 30 minutes to go. Right after I subbed in, Greensboro came down the right side and scored a lucky chip shot. The goal had nothing to do with me, however it was frustrating nonetheless. I continued to play very hard, made good passes and took a couple shots on goal. Then I won the ball from the other team at midfield with was redistributed to Denny out wide who then passed it to Clif for a game winning shot at the top of the box. Nice to see him finally score a big goal on his senior night. It was a great feeling to hear the crowd erupt out there. Then after intense pressure from both our forwards and midfielders, Greensboro fumbled a pass back for an own goal. I came out with 10 minutes to go, happy I could contribute much more to this game. Now its time to prep for our conference tournament next weekend.
