As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Week Updates

This week has really flown by...even though I still had classes on Monday.  Guess I forgot what college life was like - hard to believe it's already Thursday and we'll be doing our pre-game practice walkthroughs this afternoon.

This week of soccer has been the usual grind.  Film session on Monday (which was frustrating for many reasons, always hard to watch a loss) and hard practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We are continuing to tweak our lineup while teaching some of the younger guys our style of play.  Although I don't agree with the way we play sometimes, I am remaining positive and helpful for the rest of the team.  It's funny how much leadership responsibility I've assumed this year as a senior despite not being an official team captain.  Yet the old lesson still rings true: leadership is a conscious action of will, not a title of position.  Two big games ahead this weekend and mom and dad will be back in town to watch!

  1. Even though you don't have official "speaking privileges" keep leading the team well. They definitely need good leaders this year and you can do that for the team. Best of luck this weekend and keep digging.
