As a result of my continued involvement in the world of fitness and sports performance training, I learned from my mentor Brian Diaz of the importance of training logs. Hence, below are my attempts to accurately document what I do as a collegiate soccer player, both on and off the field. Enjoy!

Thank You!

I need to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to Greensboro this weekend to watch us play.  To Mom, Dad, Tyler, Nelson, Pops, Grandma, Brian and his family, Patty, and Ken.  It means the world to me to have so much support there.  In the midst of a busy season it's easy to forget that and I was glad to be reminded of it this weekend.  We won in a dominating fashion (7-0) over our USA South Conference rival Greensboro College.  I got plenty of good minutes and glad we ended our regular season undefeated for the first time in program history.

Back to Game Mode

Tomorrow we face off against Mary Washington for our last home game of the season...senior night.  I will miss these guys, they have been an influential class and great mentors and friends to me.  We've had some good and intense practices this week including a new 4v5 shooting game.  After having off from games since last Wednesday it's time to roll tomorrow.

The Weekender

Feel like a non-athlete this weekend with no games on our schedule.  Thursday and Friday's practices were light but good.  We got some good work done on the circuit, technical drills, and small sided games. Yesterday I stopped by the CNU tailgate and had a good time seeing everyone.  The football guys pulled off a good win in front of a record crowd complete with fireworks at half time.  I've had a chance to catch up on some work this weekend and looking forward to our final home game on Wednesday night...it will be a special one for our seniors.

Short Week Rollin

This week is rolling by fast since we had no classes on Monday and Tuesday.  It was great having a break from travel and class...I was able to catch up on a lot of work and rest.  Soccer is rolling along fine...we won big last night against Shenandoah 4-0 despite a ton of rain that came down the second half.  I'm continuing to get good minutes so I can't complain.  We finish out practice this week and then have this weekend off from activity.  Our next game is on Wednesday at home versus Mary Washington under the lights.

Thankful for Break

These last few weeks have been tough with travel and school.  The semester is now half way over and glad I was able to get through all the midterms this week.  Glad we have a long weekend for fall break too.  The family had a surprise with Nelson this weekend and -long story short- he ended up having his appendix removed yesterday morning at Duke.  He is recovering well and will be home this afternoon.  Thank you everyone for your support and prayers.  As for me, practice has been going fine, never perfect but giving it 100% every day.  Tonight we have a big one against conference rival Methodist.  Nelson- I will give you a wave on the camera, hoping for the best tonight!

This One's For You Pops

Hey Pops,
Sorry I haven't been writing a lot lately, been very busy with soccer travel and school.  Everything is plugging along well...I had the chance to catch up with you on the phone today and Brian last night which was good.  Practices have been tough but good, knock on wood my playing time is going up and I hope it can stay that way.  We've got a big one tonight against our conference rival NC Wesleyan here at home.  Glad most of our traveling is done for the year...hoping for a good one tonight!
